Sorry it's taken a while but have been otherwise occupied with Emilia. The sweep didn't work so went into hospital to be induced. After the first dose of prostin I was told that I couldn't have the second as there were no delivery suites available, and fearing that I would have to deliver the baby on ward 10, they put off giving me the second dose until the next morning. My waters broke at 10:15 pm but the hospital sent Huw home, tellingnhim that they would phone him with plenty of notice if anything happened, this worried me a little as no one actually oopped their head round the curtain for 8 hours.
Anyway, was given my second dose the next morning , Huw had breakfast in the hospital in case anything happened quickly and before 11am I was taken to the delivery suite. Thankful for gas and air as until then all I'd had was two paracetamol. Huw phoned his mum but the midwives thought it would progress slowly. In actual fact it went quite quickly and after protesting that the baby was on her way, the midwives checked to find that I was 8 cms dilated. Not long after and in quite a rush chris was called in and emilia was born on the 8th march, weighing 6pm 13oz. After much waiting around on the ward, emilia and I were discharged just after 11pm and Huw picked us up and took us home.
